Google's tribute to Pac-Man costs 100 million to companies

The homage paid by Google to one of the most successful video games of all time, Pac-Man had its downside: that workers use made of it in their workday. Thus, the version of the game offered on its website the search took 4.82 million hours of productivity to businesses, or 100 million euros.

The method used by this company has been taking a random subset of users (about 11,000 people spent about 3 million seconds on Google that day.) This study showed the average user spent 36 seconds on Google.com on Friday, in which the search included the Pac-Man in his 'website'.

Thus, according to Rescue Time points, the Pac-Man of Google cost the companies 4,819,352 hours, equivalent to 549 years. This figure translates into dollar amounts, would have a cost to business of $ 120 million (100 million euros), on the basis of the average user charges $ 25 an hour.
